B.C. TEAL
TEAL/TESOL Bursary Fund

Purpose: The TEAL/TESOL Bursary Fund supports the travel of TESL Canada or TESOL affiliate members to a TESOL Annual Convention or a TESL Canada Annual Conference. This fund was established in 1992 at the TESOL'92 Convention in Vancouver, Canada.



Who is Eligible:



All applicants must be members in good standing of TESL Canada or TESOL affiliates. Applicants must indicate evidence of service to their local affiliates.

Amount of Award:



Amounts vary up to Cdn.$2,500.00.

Criteria:



Applications will be evaluated according to:

  • The applicant's history of service to the local affiliate;
  • The applicant's need for financial assistance for travel to the annual conference;
  • The applicant's history of service to the local ESL/EFL community; and 
  • The extent to which the applicant's attendance at an annual convention will benefit the local affiliate or ESL/EFL community.

Application Procedures:



Applicants are asked to send 2 copies (1 original and 1 photocopy) of a proposal addressing the criteria set out.  Proposals must also include two letters of reference from members of the local affiliate, one preferably from a member of the executive board of the local affiliate.

 

Application Deadline:



October 15th of each year.  Only successful applicants will be notified in writing.
