Hilda is currently an active member on the BCTEAL board.  She demonstrates her commitment to professional development by providing well-attended and well-received professional development opportunities to the BCTEAL Membership during her 2-year term.  These opportunities include: BC TEAL Lunch 'n' Learn Presentations:  How to Level Texts for Scaffolding and Moving from Sentences to Paragraphs to Essays: A Grammatical Perspective and How to Include LGBTQ+ Representation into Lessons without 'Otherizing'. As well, she is presenting How to Indigenize your Learning Space at BCTEAL's 2023 Conference.  Hilda has also supported the professional development of educators with her written resources in blog posts for BCTEAL: Ten Ways to Use Music in the ESL Classroom and How to Make Your LGBTQ+ Students Feel More Included, as well as, writing for the BCTEAL Journal: EDI Research Paper.
