MATTHEW LEVAN
Second Vice President (2024-2025)
Matthew has a passion for adult education which started in 2008 with his first job in the EAL world with Frontier College teaching English to Mexican migrant workers . Taking this experience and a desire to pursue a career teaching adults, Matthew enrolled in a Masters of Adult Education at the University of New Brunswick completing this in 2012. While pursuing his studies Matthew concurrently began his career within LINC, getting inspiration teaching amazing students from around the world at the Multicultural Association of Fredericton.
Upon moving to the west coast in 2015 Matthew joined MOSAIC and has worked in various capacities within the organization ever since. Matthew has experience in various programs, most recently as Senior Manager of Language Programs where he directs both the LINC program and MOSAIC engage, which is one of MOSAIC's social enterprises that delivers IELTS, CELPIP and CLBPT assessments as well as fee-for-service English classes.
He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the BC TEAL board and is excited to continue the work of supporting EAL teachers in BC with a dynamic, and instructor centred umbrella organization.
