SHIRENE SALAMATIAN
Post-Secondary Representative (2021-2023)

Shirene Salamatian is a committed EAL educator teaching for over 25 years in settlement, employment, and academic English language sectors. She is currently teaching in the EAL Department at Vancouver Community College. As a former TEAL Charitable Foundation (TCF) board member, Shirene was actively involved in raising thousands of dollars for scholarships for refugee students wanting to pursue post-secondary education. Shirene has contributed extensively to the EAL industry developing health-related curriculum (Talking About Pain) for LINC programs, delivering training on testing and assessment, teaching TESOL students, and contributing to the revision of the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB).
